Artwork Guidelines

File Format

For high-quality printing, and to save a lot of time and money, it's best to have your artwork ready to go and in the right format.

We recommend using a genuine vector file format such as .eps, .ai or .pdf.  If you don't have a vector file, you can request it from your graphic designer.

Fonts

Whenever possible, please send files with fonts converted to curves or outlines.

This means you don't need to send the fonts separately. If the font isn't included, it can be hard to figure out how the text should look. If you can't send the font, let us check if we already have it. Ideally, all fonts should be included with your artwork.

Colours

The recommended colour mode for signage artwork is typically created in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) colour mode, as printers use this mode for printing. Using CMYK ensures the printed colours closely match the intended design.

Artwork Charges

If the customer provides artwork that's ready for standard production (refer above), there are no artwork charges.

However, artwork charges of $90.00 per hour + GST may apply in the following cases:

  • The customer provides a file with missing elements that need to be redrawn or cleaned up. Often, customers can't provide a vector file (one made with lines, not pixels).
  • If the resolution, colour quality, or other elements of the artwork are not suitable.
  • If artwork needs to be redrawn, involves photo manipulation, cropping, blending backgrounds, etc.
  • If the customer has an idea for the signage but doesn't have the right files.

GP signs will notify you pre-order if artwork charges will apply.
